will host its
SPRING 2019 “FUN SHOOT”
An event specifically designed to teach novice and non-shooters about firearms
On Sunday, March 24, at the San Leandro Rifle and Pistol Range (directions below)
Anyone curious about firearms is invited to join us for a fun learning experience!
THE MAIN PURPOSE OF OUR FUN SHOOTS IS TO INTRODUCE NOVICE AND NON-SHOOTERS TO FIREARMS. WE MAKE SURE THAT WE HAVE PLENTY OF DIFFERENT FIREARMS, AMMUNITION AND INSTRUCTORS AVAILABLE. WE WORK CLOSELY WITH RANGE MANAGEMENT TO PROVIDE A SAFE AND FRIENDLY LEARNING ENVIRONMENT. WE ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS, AND WE ABSORB MOST OF THE COSTS OF THE EVENT. NRA MEMBERSHIP NOT REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE.
To our invited guests:
Reservations are required! There are five available sessions: at 10:00 a.m.; 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Please contact Mike Reaves at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your spot.
We want you to have a safe, informative and fun learning experience hosted by our membership. The only costs to you are your range fee (and lunch if you decide to participate in our barbecue). We provide the guns, ammunition and training at no additional cost. You will experience:
- A $15 range fee (discounted from the usual $20)
- A firearm handling and safety clinic, conducted by a certified instructor
- One-on-one instruction on the firing line
- The opportunity to shoot various firearms
- The free loan of hearing and eye protection for those that don’t have their own
- A tasty barbecue lunch at a reasonable cost (proceeds go to support the range’s Junior Rifle Program)
- A wonderful time
Barbecue! The San Leandro Optimist Club will once again provide us with a barbecue lunch. For a nominal fee, the lunch offers a choice of a hamburger or hot dog plus chips, soda and a cookie. The food is tasty, and all proceeds go to the Optimist’s Junior Rifle Program.
Important range information: Minors under 12 are not allowed to shoot. Minors 12 to 16 can shoot .22 cal. rifles if accompanied by an adult and those 16 to 21 can also shoot handguns if accompanied by a parent, grandparent, legal guardian or, for those over 18, an adult with a parent’s permission.
