"...Well on his
way, his head in a cloud,
The man of a thousand voices, talking perfectly loud.
But nobody ever hears him,
Or the sound he appears to make.
And he never seems to notice....
But the fool on the hill,
Sees the sun going down.
And the eyes in his head,
Sees the world spinning around.
And nobody seems to like him,
They can tell what he wants to do.
And he never shows his feelings,
But the fool on the hill,
Sees the sun going down.
And the eyes in his head,
See the world spinning around..."

To All,
Perhaps someone from the Republican base should tell the Emperor of Sedona to
not bother. It will save us all a lot of grief and aggravation.

Coyote Ugly:
Ouch. That one hurts in any universe.
Last Tuesday's victory by the Democrats Party in the 2006 Midterm Elections puts
some of the country's most liberal politicians in positions of high power in the
US Congress.
And while it appears that a goodly number of the nation's independent voters
were deceived by the obscured lighting and illusory makeover of a party
desperate for a return to power, it is also clear that said voters had very
little idea on who they really were deciding to have an assignation with.
If anything, it is this aspect that should give succor to the nation's
conservatives at this moment of tribulation. For it is more than certain that
someday, in the near future, the voting public will wake up in the first light
of dawn, roll over in the strange bed of politics, and behold the leopard-print-
attired visage of Nancy Pelosi in a view much clearer than what was found in the
dance-halls and night-spots of the campaign trail.
And it will be then that they will be forced to contemplate a means of escape
that gives the highest probability of success while minimizing the chances
of a "Fatal Attraction" moment that could prove injurious to the body politic.
It is this day that conservatives of all kinds will work toward, when Lady Nancy
and her daisy chain of Lefty cohorts are outed for what they are in broad
daylight. Until then, one must keep the faith and prepare for the day when, once
more, the heirs of Henry Wallace are relegated to the minority.
For The Want
Of....:
When it came to the outcome in the U.S. Senate, where judicial nominations must
pass the partisan gantlet, Montana proved to be a pivotal state for all
concerned.
One of the little factoids about the Tester victory over Conrad Burns was that
Jon Tester won only 15 of Montana's 56 counties. Not only that, but Conrad Burns
won both Gallatin and Yellowstone counties, home to the large towns of Bozeman
and Billings, respectively.
Tester's primary strengths lay in Missoula County, where a seeming ability to
manufacture "new" voters (possibly university students from the University of
Montana) up to and through Election Day itself, was a key reason why he was able
to squeak past the reliable Burns (The provision of food by possible Democrat
operatives to voters, while they waited in line to vote, may fall afoul of
election laws regardless of the vote's outcome.). Montana has a law that allows
voter registration up until the day of each election.
Now, it is known in Republican circles that early on Burns had the lead, only to
see it erode over campaign gaffes and linkage made between Burns and disgraced
lobbyists Jack Abramoff in a number of campaign comments by Jon Tester.
But the Montana Senatorial race remained winnable up until practically to the
end, given the distribution of the vote noted by the Montana Secretary of State.
As such, much of the blame appears to rest with Republican National interests in
their apparent write-off of Burns (Where, on the other hand, President Bush
gambled on a late-hour campaign appearance in an attempt to resurrect the
loyalties and affinities of 2004).
If Republican campaign organizers are unable to understand all the rules
and aspects of each election, and the differences between states, then they are
as likely to be outmaneuvered again in future races as they were this time in
Montana. Get with it folks, the stakes are too great.

Dead
Puppies:
Much is being made of Rahm Emanuel's recruitment of Conservative Democrats to
run in the 2006 Election as to helping the Democrats take over the House of
Representatives. Putatively nicknamed "Blue Dog" Democrats, they are supposed to
be a new breed of cultural conservatives in a party famously intolerant of any
form of conservatism.
What is more, much is being made by pundits and Beltway types about how they are
not going to want to vote on the kind of Left Wing agenda one would normally
expect of Nancy Pelosi and the horde of Winged Monkeys she has delegated for
many of the leadership positions in the House of Representatives.
But already there are signs of the kind of iron-handed discipline that the
Democrats are famous for in enforcing the liberal agenda.
For example, the folks at InsightMag.com are alleging that Speaker-To-Be Pelosi
is going to pass over California's own Jane Harman for chair of the House
Intelligence Committee. Instead, she may pick Representative Alcee Hastings as
a) a payback to the Congressional Black Caucus over the "slights" showed Rep.
William Jefferson earlier this past year (Jefferson is under an FBI
investigation over the source of the large sums of "cold" cash found in his
freezer after Hurrican Katrina). Harman had voted against the Democrat Party
line on such issues as the Patriot Act and the Iraq War, and may not be
considered "reliable" from the viewpoint of the Left Coast harridan.
As such, the scenario proposed by Rush Limbaugh (the one where Frosh Dems are
taken into a back room and "splained" to about how they won't get campaign
support in 2008 unless the toe the line on the leadership's legislative agenda)
looks like the most likely one to happen. Conservative Dems from Indiana,
Kentucky and other more conservative states will be importuned to turn left at
Albuquerque, leaving their principles and campaign promises behind them.
One of these principles that the leadership will demand a betrayal of may be
firearms rights. It's been a long and dry spell for the gungrabbers at the
Federal Level, so a host of legislation should be expected. Firearms activists
should be prepared to remind the various Blue Dog Democrats about what
Senator-Elect James Webb so aptly wrote about in his book " Born Fighting"-
Many of us will not give up our guns. No way, No How. And We Vote.
