About the Members' Councils Web-based INformation System (MCWINS)...

This is a description of the MCWINS system, it's features and capabilities. Please note that ALL PERSONAL CONTACT INFORMATION IS KEPT IN STRICTEST CONFIDENCE. For more information, contact the Program Administrator.

MCWINS was designed and developed for free specifically for the NRA MC System and is maintained at no cost by the designer, AmmoGuide.com. Please support our supporters.

The MCWINS system is designed to provide a central administration/communication facility for all CA NRA Members' Councils as well as the program administrator. MCWINS provides a consistent set of tools with an easy-to-use interface. MCWINS...
  • Allows the program adminsistrator to distribute sensitive messages to the MCs on a global and individual basis using a password-protected system.
  • Allows the program adminsistrator to distribute sensitive documents to the MCs on a global and individual basis using a password-protected system.
  • Returns an email to new volunteers who signup via the NRAMembersCouncils.com volunteer page.
  • Sends an email to MC personnel about new volunteers who signup for their MC via the NRAMembersCouncils.com volunteer page.
  • Allows each MC to control the information that is contained in the emails returned to online volunteers.
  • Allows each MC to define their area of responsibility in California (via zip codes).
  • Allows each MC to control the information displayed on their individual MC contact webpage listed in the MC Directory.
The major sections of the MCWINS system are:

The Officers List is a convenient one-stop listing of the MC's officers with contact information. Please fill out all contact information as completely as possible. The number of entries is fixed at 4, one for each officer position.

The Admin List is provided to identify all personnel who know the password to the MC's MCWINS page. MCWINS admins may only be assigned by the president of each MC; no other MC person is authorized to distribute the MCWINS password information. Please fill out all contact information as completely as possible UNLESS the admin is also listed as an officer. In that case, just enter the name (but exactly as entered in the officers list). Any number of MCWINS admins may be assigned.

This section contains the tools used to administer the various aspects of MCWINS operation for the specific MC:

Display [mcname] webpage

This tool displays the MC's individual contact webpage as listed in the MC Directory. This is especially useful if one has applied changes to their contact info and wish to review them for correctness.

Upload new [mcname] webpage

This tool provides full control over the MCs individual contact webpage (see previous item). It is normally disabled as it's use requires knowledge of HTML. If an MC has a webmaster that wants to assume responsibility for building and maintaining a custom page, a phone number is provided to call and have the item enabled. (MCs without webmasters can easily maintain their default contact webpage via the 'Edit MC Contact Info' tool described below.)

Enter Calendar Event

To enter a new event into our state-wide Calendar of Firearm-related Events, one has to wait until their submission is approved by the calendar admins. However, this tool allows MCWINS users to enter events immediately, with no vetting required.

Edit Zip-Codes for [mcname]

The area of every MC is defined by the geopgraphic boundaries of a set of zip codes. This information is especially necessary at 2 times:

  1. To define the target area when your MC requests an orange card mailing and...

  2. Identifies the correct MC for online volunteers.

Edit MC Contact Info for [mcname]

This tool affords control over the MC contact information that will be returned to online volunteers. When changing data, one can elect to just save the new information or save it and overwrite the MC'c contact webpage with the new info. MCs who don't want to take full control of their contact webpage (see 'Upload new [mcname] webpage' above) should use this option.

Access MC documents for [mcname]

This tool provides a password-protected means for the program administrator to distribute sensitive MC documents both globally and on an individual MC basis.

If you have more questions about the MCWINS system, please address them to the Program Administrator.
