THIS ISSUE HAS CARRIED INTO 2009. CLICK HERE.

10/09/2007 - Long Beach is still in the preliminary stages of considering an ammunition sales log ordinance. It has currently been transferred to both the Public Safety Advisory Commission and the Public Safety Committee. The Public Safety Committee, so far, is waiting on the Public Safety Advisory Commission for input and recommendation. So far the Public Safety Advisory Commission has withheld judgment on the issue at two consecutive meetings.

This ordinance is is scheduled to be heard again on October 10th, 2007, at 7PM (next Wednesday). Speakers and participants are welcome and encouraged to show up and let their voices be heard. No prior notification to the commission is necessary.

The location for the meeting is the Long Beach Police Department, Community Room 400 West Broadway, Long Beach, CA.

07/22/2007 - This proposal is still in its early stages, with the City Council having just met on 7/17 to direct the Public Safety Committee to research adoption and to report back to the Council. Nothing is on calendar yet but it is not too early for local residents to voice their opposition to the Public Safety Committee of Long Beach.
