Issue:	WE WON! SAN MATEO CTY ORDINANCES

Description:	SAN MATEO COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO CONSIDER GUN CONTROL ORDINANCES Next Tuesday morning, December 15, 2009, at 9:15a.m., (time specific) the full Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County will consider and vote on whether to adopt two ordinances that impact the rights of lawful gun owners in that County. One ordinance will require that all firearms that are lost or stolen be reported to law enforcement within 48 hours of when the owner knew or should have known it was lost or stolen. The other ordinance is an extensive, draconian regulation of firearms, firearm components, and ammunition vendors, which will basically make it impossible to have a gun store in the County of San Mateo.

Latest Info:	12/15/2009 - Both ordinances defeated! At this morning's hearing, the San Mateo County Supervisors withdrew both ordinances and postponed indefinitely further consideration. Even though the action had already been taken and no issue remained on the table, gun owners were still given ample opportunity to address the board. Once again, the NRA has led the fight to protect firearms owners, dealers, and the general public from those who would deny us our freedoms. Thanks goes out to the California Rifle and Pistol Association and the Calguns Foundation for their invaluable assistance in this effort. Special mention must be made of those concerned citizens who took time from their schedules to attend the hearing and contribute to this community effort. Working together works!
