Bans the possession of handguns and the sale, manufacture and transfer of all firearms and ammunition in the city and county of San Francisco.
Original implementation date was January 1, 2006 but San Francisco has agreed to postpone enforcement
of the provision of Prop H that bans the sale or transfer of
any firearm or ammunition until 20 days after March 20, 2006.
Unless defeated in the courts, San Francisco gun owners will have to surrender their firearms to authorities.
Since all handgun sales are now registered in California, confiscation of firearms
from honest, peaceable citizens will presumably begin at or around June 12.
